Content Description (long):

“The Resistance Press in Thessaly was one of the major weapons of the Greek National Resistance. Armed with the technical equipment that gave an advantage to the offensive military capability of ELAS [National Popular Liberation Army] in the region, and flanked by experienced professional Thessalian reporters and typesetters who hastened down from the mountain to fight in their own way, it provided a high degree of response to the needs of the patriotic struggle. In addition to publications of the Resistance organizations of Thessaly, it also printed all the publications of the Partisan Government, as well as those of the Central Organisations of EAM [National Liberation Front] and the parties that comprised it… Quantities of newspapers, booklets and other printed matter were sent, secretly and at great risk, to Thessaly, to Athens and other cities and regions, even to the islands”.
