Content Description (long):

“Today, when we think of present literature, we regard the issues of modernism and the avant-garde as settled. In reality, the discussion about Greek modernism has always occasioned misunderstandings, while the issue of the Greek avant-garde, especially that of its existence, is only raised peripherally, to be rapidly sidestepped by other matters, ostensibly of greater importance. This book attempts to investigate these two types of modernity in postwar Greek literature. When, in what periodicals and with what critical discourse was the dispute hosted, tradition transcended or the literary tradition overthrown?  In the end, what texts incorporated the vigorous version of the Greek vanguard, developing its utopian function and contributing to the evolution of radical currents up to the present time? What will experimental literature look like in the future, and what will be its new quests?”
