Content Description (long):

“After Hitler’s troops advanced into Greece, and the foreign occupation became ever more asphyxiating, the Greeks regrouped and rallied together. The silence and terror of the early days were followed by whispering, calling and shouting, an unprecedented clamour that cannot be restricted to what we usually describe as resistance literature. It was a polyphonic phenomenon indicating mental awareness and national outspokenness.

Even the periodical literary press flourished as never before.

The common aim was the search for a vital venue in which to express views, etc. and at the same time to forge the national awareness that had been undermined by scurrilous Occupation propaganda”.
